We are lucky enough to travel the UK doing Gin Tasting and oh boy don’t we love our jobs! We have done a whole spectrum of different events for corporate and private bookings!
One week we might be in a gorgeous London showroom and by the weekend we are in a Holiday Cottage bustling with Hens (The human pre-wedding kind of course!).
It doesn’t matter the people or the venue, we always have a fantastic time. We also feel pretty big headed that we have managed to convince many a non-gin drinker along the way too!
Most of our gin tastings have the same fun fuelled formula to them. We start with a brief history of Gin and whip out our mini gin still for everyone to have a feel and gander. We talk about the origins of gin, British Imperialism and all the wonderful (and wacky) botanicals found in our favourite tipple!
Our Gin Tastings include 5-8 Gins – and we start you off with a fantastic gin cocktail to get you in the mood. All our guests try a variety of artisan gins as well as a taste of Genever which we liken to Marmite – you either love it or hate it but you’ve got to try it!
Every person has a Gin Tasting worksheet – this includes a plethora of botanicals from your gin plus the chance to rate your gins and capture that key information! For corporate events and hen parties we sometimes even incorporate a quiz for a free bottle of something wonderful.
You taste it neat (yes, neat!) followed swiftly by tonic and of course a garnish and ice and we don’t just garnish with a slice of lime. Usually, a whole fruit basket awaits you. You’ll be surprised how important a garnish is to a good G&T. The whole process lets our audience build up the layers of their drink, tasting it at it purest form right up to the pièce de résistance.
Don’t worry if you don’t like tonic we always have Ginger Beer, Ale or Lemonade on hand to get you through.
With every gin, we like to give our expert opinions and answer all the questions. Luckily we quite like the sound of our own voices and don’t mind standing in front of a large corporate group or a small team of rowdy hens (you know who you are!).
It’s always our least favourite part of the night, the end of the session. But just before you get to have a drink of your favourite Gin and a good old chinwag. What we love and our clients love is that you’re not time stamped! It could take 2 hours or it could take 4 we won’t rush you along.
If you would like to book a gin tasting then give us a shout! We’d love to come along and show you a good time. Don’t forget to check out our Festive Gin Tasting packages!
